Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam The Securities Industry Essentials (SIE or Essentials) Exam, is a FINRA exam for prospective securities industry professionals. This introductory-level exam assesses a candidate’s knowledge of basic securities industry information including concepts fundamental to working in the industry, such as types of products and their risks; the structure of the securities industry markets, regulatory agencies and their functions; and prohibited practices. Key Features of the Essentials Exam- The Essentials exam is open to anyone aged 18 or older, including students and prospective candidates interested in demonstrating basic industry knowledge to potential employers.
- Association with a firm is not required, and individuals are permitted to take the exam before or after associating with a firm.

Once you have enrolled as an online student, ExamFX will become your education provider. All study materials, practice quizzes, and exams are taken with ExamFX.IMPORTANT: Online students will also take their proctored exam with ExamFX – online – and will receive their completion certificates by mail within 3-4 days. Although a classroom course with a live instructor is always preferable, Morton-Barber Learning Center also offers a self-study option for Life, Accident & Health. You can pick up a book at our office for $139.95, or we can mail it to you for an additional $22.95 shipping fee. Our self-study book includes all the necessary study material needed to pass the state exam, including a valuable Exam Simulator for online access to a bank of 3000 questions, a “Simulate Your Exam” that may be taken repeatedly and a “Guarantee Exam” that may be taken only twice & best saved for before your state exam. These practice exams are important helpful tools for preparing to pass the state exam. Please call us or stop by our location in Worthington to obtain the book. A registration form will need to be completed by the student at the time of enrollment. Students who want to complete their pre-licensing education by the self-study method are required by the Ohio Department of Insurance to take a “proctored exam” (or pre-exam) at our facility. Our proctored exam is 100 questions. A score of 70% or above is required for a pass to receive the completion certificates required to move on to the state exam. Completion certificates are awarded the same day as the exam. The first proctored exam is included in the purchase of the self-study materials. Re-test fee is $50. Property & Casualty Weekend Cram Class
This fast tracked 2.5 day/20 hour course requires students to review the course textbook for 20 hours before taking the class. You must pay the full class fee to receive the book in advance. Either pick up the book in our office, or pay an additional shipping and handling for home/office delivery. Students must pass the proctored screening exams at the end of the class to receive their certificates.
