Although a classroom course with a live in-person instructor is considered the gold standard, Morton-Barber also offers self-study options for Life, Accident & Health.
You can pick up a book at our office or we can mail it to you for an additional shipping fee.
Our self-study book includes all the necessary study material needed to pass the state exam, including a valuable Exam Simulator for online access to a bank of 3000 questions, a “Simulate Your Exam” that may be taken repeatedly and a “Readiness Exam” that may be taken only twice & best saved for before your state exam. These practice exams are important helpful tools for preparing to pass the state exam. Please call us or stop by our location in Worthington to obtain your materials.
A registration form will need to be completed by the student at the time of enrollment.
Students who want to complete their pre-licensing education by the self-study method are required by the Ohio Department of Insurance to take a “proctored exam” (or pre-exam) at our facility. Our proctored exam is 100 questions. A passing score of 70% or above is required to receive a completion certificate to sit for the state exam. Completion certificates are awarded the same day as the exam. The first proctored exam is included in the purchase of the self-study materials. Re-test fee is $50. The proctored exam, is given by appointment only by calling 614-885-2800.
Need a live review class to tie all of your self-study together?
We offer two options for live review classes:
1. Life, Accident & Health Self-study Course with 5-Day Live Review – $350 (plus shipping, if applicable)
-This review gives the student plenty of live, virtually led instruction to add hours of relevance and real-life experiences to their self-study from the convenience of their home or office.
-Class is offered Monday-Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm once a month via Zoom. Your confirmation email will include instructions with log-in information for the classes.
2. Life, Accident & Health Self-study Course with 20-hour Weekend Live Review – $325 (plus shipping, if applicable)
-This option gives the student a more condensed, streamlined version of the 40 hour review class. It is offered on the weekend so that you can self-study during the week, and review with a live, virtual instructor at the end of the week. Self-study is strongly encouraged before attending the class as it is fast-paced.
-The live review is offered on Friday from 5:00pm-9:00pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am-5:00pm via Zoom. Your confirmation email will include instructions with log-in information for the classes.
Classes are taught by fun, upbeat instructors who have decades of experience in the industry and some with Million Dollar Round Table qualifications!
